Approve Minutes: Approved minutes from June 18th.
Summer Activities:
County Fair- didn't go very well
MIP Classes- 1 this summer so far that combined June and July. Next one this Saturday. Getting data from surveys organized. Law changes after September-- more information later
SKSC- getting flashlight keychains "Be Safe Tonight..." to be handed out at Motor Vehicles Department and other special events.
DUI Cost Card- name maybe should be larger. They will be handed out at MSU PD, Ask Us, and other locations.
Substance Abuse Pod- 1st on list is getting data on MIP convictions. Everyone needs to bring data they have and data they may want.
David Bennett's system analysis- on efficacy of Gallatin law and justice system. Should provide important information for DUI enforcement, convictions, etc.
Travis Munter expressed his concern that Sheriff Cashell does not want DUI's in his jail-- very controversial. Travis to draft letter of concern.
Autumn Activities:
Midnight Mania: Oct. 10th. Will show drunk goggles-- was a big hit last year from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Finances:
No new funds until January. Have about $14,000 left in account; spent about $16,000 over last year. Will use remaining funds for holiday overtime patrols and inserts in payroll; will talk more on this topic in September
Purchased Virtual Town Hall license to maintain up-to-date web presence with new stats. Looking for away to appear on search engines.
SKSC- Gifts for Parent Party Patrol members-- can pay a stipend from SKSC and create thank you plaques. Can give $800 to MSU Cat Cab from SKSC-- will probably give $2000 if there are sufficient funds-- will know for sure in the spring.
Jenna will receive training in Excel spreadsheets-- one day workshop.
Mileage reimbursement for Parent Party Patrol activities over the past year.
Possible trip to visit Watch program
Cat Cab Update
Cat Cab rides increased 49% in the last year. Their new hours will now run from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Expanded service- will now have 2 Cat Cabs from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
New contract is $10,000 more expensive per year than last year for added service.
Looking into idea of van pilot project for Cat/Griz weekend this fall. Depends on funding and MSU administrative support. Annie will speak with Brian Close in public transportation community to get route ideas
